CAPTAIN | Benjamin Cutler | British/USA
BIO: Having been born into a pedigree offshore powerboating family and growing up on the water in the South Coast of England, my passion for the water and all things boating has been cultivated from a young age. With nearly 12 years in the industry working onboard high-profile yachts ranging from 34m to 96m, my rapture for yachting continues to grow exponentially. I love to travel and experience new places, a few of my favourite cruising locations include Iceland, Hawaii and the Amalfi Coast. I look to hone in my expertise from my experience aboard larger vessels and provide the same level high of service to our guests aboard King’s Lair.
Having recently become a husband and father, I seek to achieve my best for my family. Striving for excellence plays a key element in my yachting career and onboard. As family is everything to me, I am harbouring that mentality into building a strong crew dynamic.
I look forward to having you onboard M/Y King’s Lair, and hope we have the pleasure to sail with you again.
Hobbies: Traveling with my family, staying fit, cars, boats and speed!
CHIEF STEWARDESS| Alexandria Llewellyn | Welsh
BIO: Alex grew up in Wales, United Kingdom and spent most of her life in the countryside until joining the Yachting industry in 2018 where she began exploring the world. Alex worked in a variety of hospitality environments and began searching for a path to elevate her career. Her passion for personal development and the level of service required to succeed excelled through discovering the world of Yachting. Alex has worked on oceans between Asia, United States, the Caribbean Islands and the Mediterranean over the last few years with a variety of high-profile clientele. Having studied Theatre and Drama in 2012 and going on to work in television for a few years afterwards she believes this environment really set her up for a career in Yachting, to perform the service required as and when. Alex became a Chief Stewardess in 2020, continued to progress through to an Assistant Purser on a 134m Yacht however realised she was lacking the feeling of being part of a team and running the floor from the front and decided to continue pursuing her career as a Chief Stewardess where her passion lied.
Hobbies: Alex spends her free time outdoors, at the theatre or at any live performance.
SECOND STEW | Iza Grobbler | South African
BIO: Iza grew up just outside Cape Town, South Africa, where she spent much of her time immersed in nature—hiking in the mountains, doing water sports along the coast, and enjoying the wild beauty of Cape town and all along the Garden Route. With a love for art, photography, and community work, she always sought out meaningful experiences and creative expression which laid the foundation for a career rooted in creativity, service, and connection. Iza joined yachting in 2019, shortly after finishing high school, and remained committed to one private vessel, until she found her yachting family on King’s Lair. Since then, she has been cruising Panama, Costa Rica, the Caribbean, and the Bahamas. Iza’s approach to her role as a stewardess is driven by a deep desire to make people feel cared for, welcomed, and uplifted. Her favorite part of the job is creating magical guest experiences—whether through elegant tablescapes, thoughtful service touches, or simply bringing a smile to someone’s face. When not onboard, Iza enjoys hiking, trail running, working out, and exploring new destinations.
“I believe in leaving people better than I found them—with kindness, a sense of wonder, and something beautiful to remember.”
