CAPTAIN: Kevin Askew
CHEF: Desre Askew
 

Kev is a South African who grew up in the coastal city of Port Elizabeth, where the ocean has always been a big part of his life. He developed his passion for the ocean and sailing during his time in the South African Navy.  He thrives on adventure and, apart from sailing, much of his fun time was spent on long-distance surf-ski racing and mountain-bike ultra marathons.  

And if that’s not enough to keep him busy, Kevin has a wonderfully diverse range of interests. He is an avid beekeeper, has an endless knowledge of wildlife and sealife, and enjoys following the world's markets.  

With a lifelong connection to the sea, a love of adventure, Kevin brings experience, enthusiasm and a great sense of humour to every charter.  

He is always looking forward to making sure everyone on board has a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Chef Des is a South African chef with a serious eye for detail, a big love for food, and a talent for creating dishes that people remember long after the last bite.

Coming from a family with a strong hospitality and food background, Des has grown up around great food and even greater work ethic. She takes real pride in what comes out of her galley and loves nothing more than seeing guests fall in love with what’s on their plate.

Her cooking brings flavors from around the world - from beautifully presented continental classics to aromatic oriental-inspired dishes. She loves keeping things fresh, fun and a little unexpected.

With a warm, fun-loving personality, Des, loves to meet people and establish long lasting friendships.

Both Kev and Des have been working together for many years as an energetic and fun-loving team. Their shared passion for adventure, hospitality and the ocean, combined with their complementary skills and strong work ethic, allows them to create a relaxed, professional and enjoyable experience for every guest.
