ROTATIONAL CAPTAIN- RICHARD HARPUR- SOUTH AFRICHARAN

Originally from South Africa, Captain Richard Harpur brings over 15 years of experience in the yachting industry, working on vessels ranging from 85ft to 196ft. His career has taken him across the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Alaska, Canada, and both U.S. coasts, where he has led private programs, overseen new‑build commissions, and completed more than 30 successful charters. Known for his calm leadership style and dedication to delivering a smooth, enjoyable experience for guests, Richard focuses on creating a welcoming environment while mentoring crew to grow in their roles.

Outside of work, Richard is an avid fisherman, diver, mountain biker, photographer, and outdoor explorer—always ready for the next adventure



FIRST MATE- NATHAN FOURIE- SOUTH AFRICAN

With over six years in the yachting industry, Nathan has worked his way up from deckhand to Mate, gaining extensive experience on busy private and charter programs up to 50m. He has cruised worldwide, from the Bahamas and Chesapeake Bay to Mexico, Tahiti, and the Med, honing his skills in deck management, bridge procedures, and tender driving. Known for his hands-on leadership, strong technical knowledge, and calm approach under pressure, Nathan ensures smooth operations on deck while creating a safe and enjoyable guest experience. Outside of yachting, he enjoys golf, diving, hiking, and staying active at the gym.



CHIEF ENGINEER- OMAR BROWN- JAMACIAN

Born in St. Ann, Jamaica and studied Marine Engineering at the Caribbean Maritime University and Mechanical Engineering at University of Technology, Jamaica. Omar embarked on his engineering experience working in the commercial industry on vessels such as Oil tankers, Tugboats, Offshore Supply Vessels and Passenger Ships. Omar holds his 111/11 unlimited management level and a degree in maritime engineering. IN 2007 Omar decided to transition into the Yachting industry. During this period Omar was privileged to cruise places such as France, Italy, Monaco, Turkey, Croatia. Greece, Bahamas, Caribbean, South Pacific, and the Florida Keys. Having joined STAY SALTY at the beginning of the year he has been an invaluable asset to the team and is looking forward to this upcoming Winter season. If Omar is not in the engine room, you can find him playing or watching soccer or producing and listening to music.



ROTATIONAL CHIEF ENGINEER- DESEAN WILLIAMS- JAMACIAN

With over a decade of marine engineering experience and a strong foundation in both commercial shipping and luxury yachting, Desean is a dedicated and detail-oriented Chief Engineer. He has served aboard prestigious charter yachts like M/Y Carpe Diem and M/Y SOLO, bringing deep expertise in CAT engine systems, preventive maintenance, shipyard refits, and high-performance operations across the Med, Caribbean, and Bahamas.

Known for his hands-on approach and calm under pressure, Desean ensures every voyage runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Off duty, he's an adrenaline enthusiast who enjoys extreme sports and skydiving—bringing the same bold spirit to his work that he takes to the skies.



DECKHAND- MALCOLM HAMILTON- SOUTH AFRICAN

Malcom grew up on the coast of South Africa, after school he completed his pilot license part time while he was working as a car salesman. Decided it was time for a change and started his yachting career in April 2024 in USA. Malcolm spent a lot of time in the Caribbean and looks forward to continuing his career path and eventually becoming a captain. Malcom is passionate about the water and outdoor activities and looks forward to making sure you have a wonderful trip on board M/Y STAY SALTY



CHIEF STEWARDESS- SUNITA STEENKAMP- SOUTH AFRICAN

With a background as a professional beauty therapist and over two years of yachting experience, Sunita brings a unique blend of service expertise and wellness to the guest experience. She has worked on prestigious private and charter yachts up to 49m, confidently managing interior operations, delivering five-star service, and stepping into leadership roles when needed. Trained in Swedish, Hot Stone, and Deep Tissue massage, along with advanced beauty and spa services, Sunita ensures guests feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and cared for throughout their stay onboard. Her creativity shines through in table décor, themed events, and thoughtful details that elevate every moment.

When she’s not delivering seamless service, Sunita enjoys travel, fitness, watersports, and exploring new destinations—always bringing positivity and energy to the team and her guests.

CHEF- ENGELA JOUBERT- SOUTH AFRICAN

Engela Joubert brings over a decade of culinary experience to the charter‑yacht world, blending creativity, technical skill, and a deep passion for global cuisine. With an extensive background as both a solo and crew chef, she has mastered everything from Mediterranean, French, and Italian cuisine to Asian and South African specialties. Her experience spans private and charter vessels up to 56 meters, where she has consistently delivered high‑quality menus, meticulous provisioning, and seamless galley management. Outside the galley, Engela enjoys swimming, hiking, photography, and exploring new cultures and cuisines—fueling the inspiration behind her fresh, adventurous approach to cooking.



2nd STEWARDESS/MASSEUSE- EMMA OELLERMANN- SOUTH AFRICAN

Hailing from the beautiful coastlines of South Africa, Emma brings a warm spirit, sharp professionalism, and over two years of solid experience in the superyacht industry to Stay Salty. Having worked on prestigious vessels up to 60m, she’s mastered all facets of interior operations, from high‑end service and housekeeping to detailed inventory management and guest experience.

In addition to her yachting expertise, Emma is a certified holistic massage therapist, trained in Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, lymphatic drainage, and sports massage. Her calm demeanor, technical skill, and intuitive approach help elevate the onboard guest experience, bringing an added layer of luxury and relaxation to every charter.

Off the yacht, Emma thrives in an active lifestyle; she loves swimming, running, hiking, cooking, baking, and exploring new places. Driven, grounded, and genuinely passionate about her craft, she brings heart, precision, and positivity to the Stay Salty crew.



3RD STEWARDESS- ASHELY BATTEN- AMERICAN

Ashley has over 3 years of dedicated experience working aboard private yachts in the Bahamas & Caribbean. With a strong background in high-end housekeeping, table styling, turn-down service, and detailed laundry and wardrobe care, she excels at maintaining immaculate interiors and ensuring a seamless guest experience. Ashley has served in both Second and Sole interior roles, confidently managing day-to-day operations, provisioning, organization, and readiness to keep the vessel guest-ready at all times. Beyond her professional skills, Ashley enjoys diving, mixology, and staying active—interests that complement her passion for life on the water.
