CAPTAIN- STEPHAN DE PLESSIS- SOUTH AFRICAN
Stephan joined the yachting industry at just 19 years old in New York City. With his Disel mechanic background, he became a yacht engineer and grew from there to finally become a Captain in 2006. He has cruised the Bahamas, Eastern and Western Caribbean, South and Central America. He spent three summer seasons in SE Alaska. Stephan has also done extensive travels throughout Africa and Europe. His hobbies include blue water fishing, rugby, golf, and hunting.
CHIEF STEWARDESS- JESSICA GOODING- SOUTH AFRICAN
Jess is a bubbly girl who has a passion for people and unknown places. Not only has she tackled the corporate world of events co-ordination and marketing but, has also thrown herself into classrooms around Vietnam teaching English as a foreign language. Jess is a determined young lady with a heart of gold, one that would go the extra mile to show her guests a wonderful time onboard, as well as ensuring everything is to guest satisfaction. With over 7 years in the industry, Jess has the ability to make her guests feel right at home and will attend to their needs in a welcoming and friendly manner, all while maintaining a beautifully kept living environment. Jess is the definition of a busy bee, however, will always find time for family, friends, and new adventures.
2ND STEWARDESS- SIMONE BRITZ- SOUTH AFRICAN
Born and raised in South Africa, Simone stepped into the yachting world in 2019 and hasn’t looked back since. With experience on vessels up to 95 meters, she’s polished, professional, and always ready with a smile. Simone brings a vibrant energy and meticulous attention to detail to the interior team — making sure every guest feels pampered from sunrise to sundown. Outside of work, she’s a fitness lover, a social butterfly, and always up for an adventure in a new port. Whether it’s setting the perfect dinner table or leading a morning yoga stretch, Simone keeps the vibe on board effortlessly upbeat.

MATE- GRANT DRINN- SOUTH AFRICAN
Having grown up on this family’s farm Game farm, Grant has a big heart for animals, wildlife, and the great outdoors as well as meeting new people. All this combined helped him make the decision to join yachting and live his life on the ocean. He finds a lot of gratification in showing charter guests the beautiful and serene side of nature that can be found on land or sea. Grant has traveled extensively throughout the Bahamas, the Caribbean and along the East Coast of North America participating and extending his knowledge in both fishing and diving trips. His good nature and witty sense of humor will keep you entertained during any activity, be it water sports, tender rides or beachside chilling.
DECKHAND- XAVIER BOTHA- SOUTH AFRICAN
Xavier grew up on a farm in South Africa, just outside of a quaint little tourist town named Knysna which, sits along the garden route. The farm was but a mere 10 minutes away from the beach where most of his childhood was spent surfing and fishing. This love for the water propelled him into a career of yachting where his skills are not only passions but valuable contributions to M/Y EROS. Having been in the industry for over four years, completing seasons in both the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Bahamas, Xavier’s knowledge of the water in instrumental when taking guests on activities like fishing, snorkeling, or water sports. His kind nature, willingness to help, and positive outlook on life makes him a valuable member of the team and an amazing contribution to any charter experience.
ENGINEER- RENIER TOURNEY- SOUTH AFRICAN
Renier started his journey as a deckhand and over much time and experience, his focus shifted into the role of engineer however, you can still see him behind the wheel of a tender from time to time. On previous vessels, he had a chief engineer above him to guide and teach him everything he knows today. He now holds the reins as chief engineer onboard M/Y EROS. He has travelled and worked in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and East Coast of USA. In his spare time, he enjoys playing gold and keeping up to date with the sports world. Renier enjoys fishing, skateboarding, camping, and seeing new places. Be sure to ask him for an engine room tour if that is of interest to you!
